Tired of waiting for Sony to release its Android 4.2.2 update for the Xperia Z? Well, now you don’t have to. The update has been leaked and made available to download, allowing those who have an unlocked bootloader to install it manually. However, there are a few caveats.

Now it’s almost becoming the norm for the latest flagships. It began with the Galaxy S4 at Google I/O last month, and then Android head Sundar Pinchai announced the HTC One Google Edition at D11 last week.

Now a rumor claims that we’ll get a Sony Xperia Z with stock Android next month.

Sony has today announced a new addition to its Xperia smartphone family, this time targeting the entry-level end of the market. It’s called the Xperia M and it offers a 4-inch FWVGA display with a 854×480 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, and a 5-megapixel Exmor RS rear-facing camera.

Sony CEO Kaz Hirai has confirmed that its flagship Xperia Z will finally be available in the United States in the coming weeks. The device first launched in Europe, Asia, and other markets in early February, and it was the best-selling smartphone for six weeks straight in Japan.
